This session will consider the theory of compassion and apply it to compassionate care through a model of the compassionate mind. It will consider the benefits of delivering compassionate care and will identify the core attributes and skills needed to deliver this.
An Introduction to Compassion – Part II: The Barriers to Compassionate Care
This session will examine barriers to compassionate care and the importance of an organisation being compassion-focused. It will consider strategies for identifying and minimising these barriers. ‘Compassion’ and ‘compassionate care’ were initially explored in ‘An Introduction to Compassion – Part I: The Nature of Compassion’.
Relationship Between Palliative Care and End of Life Care
This session will describe what is meant by the terms palliative care and end of life care, and what they have in common. Two case studies will be used to explain their relevance to patients with advanced progressive illnesses, and their families. The session will provide an overview of key components of palliative care and end of life care.

This session describes bone structure and its radiographic appearance, the classification of bones and joints, the function of ligaments and tendons, basic principles of skeletal biomechanics, and how these relate to image interpretation.
Image Interpretation of the Adult Skeleton Facial Bones: Session 1
This session looks at injuries related to the facial bones. It focuses on identifying anatomy demonstrated on both diagrams and X-rays, and it offers examples of radiographic technique. Mechanisms of injury are discussed to develop a knowledge base in clinical presentations.
Image Interpretation – Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Knee (Session 1)
This session looks at the anatomy of the knee, which is illustrated using diagrams, magnetic resonance images and some arthroscopic images. Mechanisms of injury are discussed along with techniques for magnetic resonance imaging of the knee.
